Married and widowed at a very young age, Holly Kennedy(Hilary Swank) is a beautiful and smart woman. Devastated by the death of her funny and impetuous Irish husband Gerry (Gerard Butler) due to brain tumor, Holly has her whole life laid ahead of her. The only person that knows her well is her husband who is no more with her. But Gerry had planned ahead and left her letters to guide her through the whole phase of getting life back on track. The film captures the journey of Holly that her husband has planned for her to rediscover life. The first letter arrives with her 30th birthday as a total surprise which asks her to celebrate herself and party hard. In weeks and months that follow, letters and mails arrive from all sorts of ways-each with the similar sign off with PS I LOVE YOU. The letters take her on an adventurous journey and reminding her that Gerry is still besides her. But what happens when she realizes that the letters will stop one day. Will she be able to live her life without her husband or are the letters tying her to the past? Starring Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank, and directed by Richard LaGravenese, the story beautifully captures all the essence of a marriage and life beyond.
