Counter strike, popularly knows as "CS", is a tactical first person shooter game.
It was deleveloped by Valve corporation and was released on 1st november 2001.
Counter strike has a very simple yet unique gameplay ,
counter strike has very simple graphics still the game is considered amongst the most addictive games till yet.
In this a player joins either the TERRORIST or COUNTER TERRORIST team.
the game has two types of maps,
1: The counter terrorist have to prevent the sites from
the explosion of the bomb planted by the terrrorist team by eliminating the
terrorist before they plant the bomb or by defusing the bomb before it
explodes
2: The counter terrorist have to rescue a certain number of hostages from
the terrorist and get the hostages safely to the evacuation place.
The players are generally given a few seconds to buy wepons and equipments
before the round starts,which is known as "freezetime". During these few
seconds, all the players cannot move /walk.
All the players are provided with a fixed amount of money to buy guns and equipments
The players earn money by killing an enemy,winning a round,loosing a round,planting(as terrorist),
defusing(as counter terrorists) the bomb.
After the end of a round ,the players who survived retain their guns and equipments
The scores are displays the team scores and statistics for each player (name ,kills , deaths , latency)
the scoreboard also indicates whether a player is dead/alive or carrying the bomb
The game counter strike is played at professional levels, it is a part of the
WORLD CYBER GAMES, teams from all over the world compete to win the huge prize
and to earn respect amonsgst the gamers !
"Aim" is one of the most important part of the game. To improve aim, many players
use special gaming mice which provide better accuracy and grip to the user !
special gaming mouse pads are also used to provide the best surface to the mouse.
"Sound sense" is another crucial part of the game, if you hear the opponent, you have an advantage as you
have an idea about his position ! Gaming headphones are also used by professionals !

What's the latest version of CS?? Can you put up a download link?

the latest version for cs1.6 is available on steam, which has protocal 48.
if you want better graphics ! go for counter strike source , available on steam, follow the links provided by ressacca.
Non steam(free) version can be downloaded from torrents.
but piracy is bad, this game does not deserves to be treated this way ! the non steam version does not deliver the gameplay and excitement which the original game has. Also, the Non steam game has a lot of cheating in it !

CS has not been given such an update,although there have been some changes with the game version. No difference in the gameplay or graphics ! I'm talking about Counter strike 1.6 , The new version , COUNTER STRIKE SOURCE , is alot better in terms of graphics, but it is not as popular as Counter strike 1.6 , because if does not deliver the same exciting gaming experience that the 12 year old counter strike does !
also, if you want the free version of game (piracy is badd !!! ), you can download it from a torrent site ! just google " download cs1.6 non steam torrent "
But the free version has many hackers(people using unfair means to win) playing, who spoil your gaming experience. And, the game does not deserve to be treated this way ! buy the original game (just rs 499) and enjoy ! :)

well i got no experience playing it on steam,i played the 1.6 version earlier through a torrent and when after getting a command over the gameplay i tried the online play,the player started to bounce between maps and random messages were displayed on the screen,it was frustrating and idiotic..then I downloaded an 'Indian' version which promised about 30+ new maps..when i started playing that the game started to respnd very slowly,what we usually call game atak atak ke chal rahi thiso I deleted that and never got a new one..
you will always face these bugs and glitches while playing the pirate version ! Try re-installing the game, and Play on INDIAN servers only. (latency < 90 for better performance)
