There are various types of red wines ranging from Merlot to Madeira and here we will discuss a few of them.
Merlot-The taste of this wine is like a dark fruity berry,cherry and cassis with some plum fruits as well as chocolate, herbs, and notes of leather.This wine is drank alone but at times can be paired with cheese,pastas,roast chicken,salads and dishes like that.There is no use to age a Merlot as they are usually ready to drink.
Burgundy-This is the most difficult wine to prepare and usually has the taste of cherry,mineral etc.
Not a wine for the faint of heart!
Pinot Noir-This is a smooth wine with a taste of tea,tart fruit depending on the style with which it is made.This wine can be served with both light foods such as sea foods or heavy foods such as meats.
Shiraz-This is an australian wine and its taste usually depend on the region it was made in.It can be fruit wine with chocolate and spices or herbs and peppery flavour.
Zinfandel-This wine has a taste associated with blackberry,raspberry or dark cherry and can have a high alcohol content ranging from 13 to 18% and are generally served with heavier foods such as hamburgers.
Madeira-This is a wine that is prepared by stopping the fermentation process by adding alcohol to it.These range from dry to sweet depending upon the grape used and these wines are usually aged as there taste deepens with time and there age could be as old as 100 years.
