Almost all the modern keyboard's consists of 3 LED's for Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll lock.
But they hardly do anything, so to use them for a networking activity(LED's will blink whenever you send or receive any data using internet), you can follow a simple procedure.

It needs a very small freeware utility called Network Lights, of merely 75 Kb's in size and doesn't even require an installation.

How to go about it-

1. Download Networking lights.
2. Open the zip file and click on Networkinglights.exe.
3. It will minimize to your taskbar and from now on these LED's will show networking activity.
4. To exit from it simply right click on the taskbar icon and click on exit.
